Don Walchuk (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2010 Point Optical Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-2 against Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK).
 
Walchuk finished 4-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walchuk lost 7-1 to Scott Egger (Brooks, AB), then responded with a 7-3 win over Scott Madams (Winnipeg, MB). Walchuk won 6-3 against Warren Jackson (Saskatoon, SK). Walchuk went on to lose 8-5 against Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB). Walchuk responded with a 7-2 win over Braeden Moskowy (Regina, SK). Walchuk won 8-7 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Walchuk earned 9.180 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Point Optical Curling Classic. For week 12 of the event schedule, Walchuk did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Walchuk ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
