Karnusian responded with a 7-5 win over Sweden's Per Carlsen. Karnusian went on to lose 9-7 against Japan's Makato Tsuruga. Karnusian responded with a 9-7 win over Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
