John Shuster (Duluth, USA) qualified for the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-3 against Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB). of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;

Shuster finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Scott Comfort (Wadena, SK) 7-3, then won 4-1 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA) and 6-2 against Dominik Maerki (Bern, SUI). Shuster went on to lose 8-2 against Thomas in their final qualifying round match.
