Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA) 8-1, then went on to lose 5-1 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). Zang responded with a 4-3 win over Manitoba's Kelly Marnoch. Zang went on to lose 6-3 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Zang earned 2.083 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 20 of the event schedule, Zang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Zang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
