Deruelle responded with a 5-1 win over Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON). Deruelle won 5-4 against Ontario's Mike McLean. Deruelle went on to lose 6-2 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
