Balsdon lost 6-2 to Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) where Balsdon responded with a 9-3 win over Ontario's Wayne Tuck Jr.. Balsdon went on to lose 6-4 against Northern Ontario's Jordan Chandler in their final qualifying round match.
