Pfister won 8-6 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR). Pfister went on to lose 8-6 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Pfister responded with a 10-9 win over Masaki Iwai (Hokkaido, JPN). Pfister went on to lose 8-6 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). Pfister lost 5-3 to Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
Pfister earned 14.496 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Pfister move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 12.93 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 28th overall with 250.383 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
