Walstad won 5-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Walstad went on to lose 8-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Walstad lost 8-6 to Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI). Walstad lost 8-6 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) where Walstad responded with a 7-6 win over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED).
