Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) won 6-5 over Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) in the Final of the StuSells Toronto Tankard, held October 5 - 8, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Curling Club in Toronto, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Carruthers won 4-3 over Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) in the semifinals   of the 2018 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and won 4-2 over Jia Liang Zang (Beijing, CHN) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2018 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; 
 
Carruthers finished 3-0 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carruthers defeated Zang 10-4, then won 6-3 against Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK) and 4-3 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the StuSells Toronto Tankard Championship title, Carruthers earned 54.804 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque. Carruthers move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 25.037 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 5th overall with 385.436 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Carruthers ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 117.532 points earned so far this season.
