In their opening game, Thompson defeated Taylor Reese-Hansen (Victoria, BC) 6-3, then won 5-3 against Kesa Van Osch (Parksville, BC) and 12-1 against Chiaki Matsumura (Nagano, JPN). Thompson won 8-5 against Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Thompson went on to lose 6-0 against Janais DeJong (Sexsmith , AB) in their final qualifying round match.
