Horgan finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Horgan defeated Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) 6-4, then won 7-1 against Steven Howard (Regina, SK) and 5-2 against Ty Dilello (Winnipeg, MB). Horgan won 7-5 against Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
