Minji Kim/Kijeong Lee (Gangwon-do, KOR) won 6-3 over Dorottya Palancsa/Zsolt Kiss (Budapest, HUN) in the Final of the HERACLES Mixed Doubles Slovakia Cup, held October 28 - 31, 2021 in Bratislava, Slovakia. To advance to the championship game, Kim/Lee won 8-1 over Oihane Unanue/Mikel Unanue (San-Sebastian, ESP) in the semifinals of the 2021 HERACLES Mixed Doubles Slovakia Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia; and won 10-5 over Marta Szeliga-Frynia/Pawel Frynia (Lodz, POL) in the quarterfinals.
Kim/Lee finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim/Lee defeated Triin Madisson/Karl Kukner (Tallinn, EST) 13-1, then won 6-5 against Zuzanna Rybicka/Bartosz Dzikowski (Lodz, POL) and 8-3 against Akvile Rykove/Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU). Kim/Lee won 10-5 against Jana Matulova/Milan Moravcik (Bratislava, SVK) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the HERACLES Mixed Doubles Slovakia Cup Championship title, Kim/Lee earned 25.439 world rankings points along with the $1,441CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 778th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 23.366 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kim/Lee ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 47.934 points earned so far this season.
