Mari Motohashi (Kitami, JPN) run at the 2022 Hokkaido Curling Championships came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-2 loss to Japan's Momoha Tabata. of the 2022 Hokkaido Curling Championships in Hokkaido, Japan;

Motohashi finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Motohashi defeated Momono Shirahata (Kitami, JPN) 7-2, then won 6-5 against Azuki Akimoto (Sapporo, JPN) and 9-5 against Japan's Mizuki Tmura. Motohashi went on to lose 8-5 against Mayu Minami (Sapporo, JPN). Motohashi responded with a 6-4 win over Yuuna Takahashi (Nayoro, JPN). Motohashi won 5-4 against Miyu Tanaka (Obihiro, JPN), then won 7-4 against Japan's Momoha Tabata in their final qualifying round match.

Motohashi earned 2.869 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Hokkaido Curling Championships, moving up 55 spots the World Ranking Standings into 186th place overall with 3.562 total points. Motohashi ranks 170th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.869 points earned so far this season.
