Advancing directly to the semifinals, Yanagisawa won 6-3 over Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC) to advance to the championship game. of the 2022 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
Yanagisawa finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Dave Merklinger (Vernon, BC) 6-0, then won 6-2 against Cody Tanaka (New Westminster, BC) and 6-5 against Pierce in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Yanagisawa earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 9 of the event schedule, Yanagisawa did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 54th to 59th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 62.236 total points. Yanagisawa ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.250 points earned so far this season.
