CHAMPION: Kyllo/Griffith Wins 2023 Penticton Mixed Doubles

Alyssa Kyllo/Tyrel Griffith (Vernon, BC) won 10-2 over Brittany Tran/Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in the Final of the Penticton Mixed Doubles, held December 8 - 10, 2023 at the Penticton Curling Club in Penticton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Kyllo/Griffith won 10-8 over Jaelyn Cotter/Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2023 Penticton Mixed Doubles in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-2 over Holly Hafeli/Mitchell Kopytko (Kamloops, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Penticton Mixed Doubles in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada;

Kyllo/Griffith finished 5-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kyllo/Griffith defeated Sharilyn Alexander/Scott Alexander (Penticton, BC) 9-2, then won 9-1 against Kristi Warner/Nick Warner (Penticton/Osoyoos, BC) and 11-5 against Hafeli/Kopytko. Kyllo/Griffith won 10-1 against Marilou Richter/Craig McLeod (Penticton, BC), then won 10-3 against Kitty Freeborn/Kevin Freeborn (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Penticton Mixed Doubles Championship title, Kyllo/Griffith earned 7.500 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 20 of the event schedule, Kyllo/Griffith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kyllo/Griffith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
