P.N. Raju (Hyderabad, IN) finished 7-3 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Raju lost 10-2 to Marc Pfister (Manilla, PHI), then responded with a 11-5 win over Jonathan Vargas (San Juan, PR). Raju won 15-0 against Haggai Odhiambo Ogak (Nairobi, KEN), then won 11-5 against Ian Robertson (Kingston, JAM) and 8-3 against Nasser Alyafei (Doha, QAT). Raju went on to lose 10-5 against Abylay Zhuzbay (Almaty, KAZ). Raju responded with a 11-6 win over Marcelo Cabral de Mello (Sao Paolo, BRA). Raju went on to lose 9-2 against Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG). Raju responded with a 12-3 win over Harold Woods (Accra, NGR). Raju won 12-5 against Amar Masalmeh (Riyadh, KSA) in their final qualifying round match.

Raju earned 1.313 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Raju did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
