To advance to the championship game, Bernard won 1-0 over Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2009 September Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 7-4 over Megan Kirk (Lethbridge, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 September Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta;
 
Bernard finished 5-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bernard defeated Leslie Rogers (Calgary, AB) 8-5, then won 7-5 against Paula Knight (Edmonton, AB) and 6-5 against Diane Foster (Lethbridge, AB). Bernard won 8-3 against Tiffany Odegard (Edmonton, AB), then won 7-2 against Holly Whyte (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the September Shoot-Out, Bernard take home 13.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Bernard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Bernard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
