Bryden finished 5-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bryden defeated
Randy Woytowich (Regina, SK) 5-3, then won
6-3 against
Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK). Bryden went on to lose
6-3 against
Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK). Bryden lost
6-5 to
Elias where Bryden responded with a
