Currie finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Currie lost 5-2 to Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA), then responded with a 7-5 win over Minnesota's John Shuster. Currie won 5-2 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Currie went on to lose 8-3 against Minnesota's Mike Farbelow. Currie responded with a 7-1 win over Doug Brewer (Cornwall, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Currie earned 8.850 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the U.S. Open of Curling, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 42nd place overall with 38.430 total points. Currie ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.865 points earned so far this season.
