To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 6-4 over Ontario's Mark Kean in the semifinals of the 2015 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-4 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada;
 
McEwen finished 4-1 in the 29-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN) 9-5, then went on to lose 7-4 against Howard. McEwen responded with a 9-4 win over Simon Biedermann (Gstaad, SUI). McEwen won 6-4 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA), then won 7-2 against Ontario's Greg Balsdon in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the StuSells Toronto Tankard Championship title, McEwen earned 67.799 world rankings points along with the $15,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 750.162 total points. McEwen ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 176.162 points earned so far this season.
