Karel Kubeska (Prague, CZE) finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kubeska defeated Tadas Vyskupaitis (Vilnius, LTU) 7-5, then won 7-3 against Adrian Meikle (Hawarden, WAL). Kubeska went on to lose 11-4 against Alican Karatas (Erzurum, TUR). Kubeska responded with a 9-1 win over Adam Freilich (Jerusalem, ISR). Kubeska won 10-6 against David Misun (Bratislava, SVK), then won 10-4 against Lucas Munuera (San Sebastian, ESP) and 13-3 against Jean Olivier Biechely (Lyon, FRA) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships playoffs earned Kubeska 12.718 world rankings points, moving up 34 spots the World Ranking Standings into 130th place overall with 34.937 total points. Kubeska ranks 72nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 34.103 points earned so far this season.
