Cotter finished 3-0 in the 12 team Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic qualifying round, held September 28 - 30, 2018 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. In their opening game, Cotter defeated Josh Barry (Vancouver, BC) 7-3, then won 5-4 against Mark Longworth (Vernon, BC) and 6-2 against Adam Cseke (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, Cotter take home 17.230 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 30th place overall with 113.585 total points. Cotter ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 17.230 points earned so far this season.
