Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) qualified for the 2018 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-2 against Tanya Hilliard (Dartmouth, NS).
Birt finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birt defeated Andrea Crawford (Fredericton, NB) 6-5, then won 8-6 against Mary Myketyn-Driscoll (Halifax, NS). Birt went on to lose 6-4 against Hilliard. Birt responded with a 8-5 win over Nancy McConnery (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
Birt earned 9.300 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel. Birt move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 6.204 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 52nd overall with 75.461 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Birt ranks 32nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.689 points earned so far this season.
