Epping finished 3-1 in the 36-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Ulsrud 4-3, then won 9-3 against Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) and 8-7 against Matthew Hall (Kitchener, ON). Epping went on to lose 7-4 against Sam Mooibroek (Cambridge, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
