Kayla Skrlik (Calgary, AB) lost 5-4 to Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) in the Final of the Alberta Curling Series: Thistle, held October 22 - 24, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Skrlik won 7-6 over Raphaela Keiser (St. Moritz, SUI) in the semifinals

Skrlik finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Skrlik defeated Tiffany Steuber (Edmonton, AB) 8-1, then went on to lose 8-4 against Keiser. Skrlik responded with a 6-2 win over Krysta Hilker (Edmonton, AB). Skrlik won 4-0 against Pam Appelman (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Alberta Curling Series: Thistle, Skrlik take home 15.579 world rankings points along with the $1,378CDN prize. Skrlik move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 13.082 points improving upon their best 2 results so far this season, ranking 56th overall with 47.631 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Skrlik ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 26.527 points earned so far this season.
