Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) qualified for the 2022 St. Thomas Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-2 against Alex Champ (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON). of the 2022 St. Thomas Curling Classic in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada;

Ainsley finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ainsley defeated Jed Brundidge (St. Paul, MN) 9-7, then went on to lose 5-1 against ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR). Ainsley lost 6-3 to Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON) where Ainsley responded with a 9-4 win over Evan Jensen (Raleigh, NC). Ainsley won 9-0 against Mark Patterson (Sarnia, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Ainsley earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the St. Thomas Curling Classic, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 89th place overall with 32.397 total points. Ainsley ranks 81st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.750 points earned so far this season.
