To advance to the championship game, Cottrill/Cottrill won 10-6 over Meaghan Mallett/Brendan Jackson (Mississauga, ON) in the semifinals of the 2022 Ilderton Mixed Doubles Spiel in Ilderton, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-2 over Amanda Gebhardt/Andrew Fairfull (Listowel, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Ilderton Mixed Doubles Spiel in Ilderton, Ontario, Canada;

Cottrill/Cottrill finished 2-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cottrill/Cottrill lost 8-7 to Mallett/Jackson, then responded with a 9-7 win over Julia Markle/Owen Henry (St Catharines, ON). Cottrill/Cottrill won 10-8 against Lindsey Schmalz/Damien Villard (Cambridge, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
