Schmidt finished 4-2 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schmidt lost 8-7 to Becker, then responded with a 11-1 win over Benjamin Holcombe (Kent, ENG). Schmidt won 10-3 against Vitor De Melo (Sao Paulo, BRA), then won 9-2 against Ching Nam Cheng (Hong Kong, HKG) and 9-2 against Roberts Buncis (Riga, LAT). Schmidt went on to lose 6-3 against Wendling in their final qualifying round match.

With their third place finish at the World Junior-B Curling Championships, Schmidt earn 4.500 world rankings points. For week 22 of the event schedule, Schmidt did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Schmidt ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
