Lowell Whittmire (Castor, AB) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whittmire lost 5-3 to Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 10-4 win over Peter Hlushak (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire went on to lose 8-5 against Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB). Whittmire responded with a 11-10 win over Ben Kiist (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire won 9-3 against Nolan Duncan (Calgary, AB), then won 6-2 against Terren Algot (Sherwood Park, AB) and 4-3 against Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire went on to lose 10-3 against Kinley Burton (St. Albert, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Whittmire earned 0.938 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 33 of the event schedule, Whittmire did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
