Trevor Funk (Medicine Hat, AB) qualified for the 2017 Regina Highland Cashspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-6 against Scott Bitz (Saskatoon, SK).

Funk finished 2-2 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Funk lost 7-5 to Ryan Deis (Fox Valley, SK), droppimg another game, 6-4 to Randy Bryden (Regina, SK) where Funk responded with a 7-1 win over Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK). Funk won 8-2 against Michael Carss (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Funk earned 6.683 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Regina Highland Cashspiel, moving up 136 spots the World Ranking Standings into 249th place overall with 9.012 total points. Funk ranks 156th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.377 points earned so far this season.
