To advance to the championship game, Dropkin won 5-2 over Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) in the semifinals of the 2023 CURVE US Open of Curling - Championships in Blaine, Minnesota, United States; and won 5-2 over Caden Hebert (Eau Claire , WI) in the quarterfinals.
 
Dropkin finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin defeated Austin Kadlec (Rice Lake, WI) 9-1, then won 7-6 against Wesley Wendling (Wausau, WI) and 5-3 against Sampson in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the CURVE US Open of Curling - Championships, Dropkin take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $2,693CDN prize. For week 9 of the event schedule, Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 10th place on the World Ranking Standings with 276.375 total points.
