Kitazawa went on to lose 8-0 against Kim. Kitazawa responded with a 6-4 win over Darcy Robertson (Winnipeg, MB). Kitazawa won 9-3 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC), then won 6-3 against Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Kitazawa earned 21.250 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the DEKALB Superspiel.
