Rumfeldt finished 5-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rumfeldt defeated Brian Damon (Schenectady, NY) 8-0, then won 5-2 against Ontario's Dale Matchett. Rumfeldt went on to lose 6-2 against Ontario's Peter Corner. Rumfeldt responded with a 6-2 win over Higgs. Rumfeldt won 6-4 against Mike Harris (Oakville, ON), then won 7-2 against Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the StuSells Toronto Tankard, Rumfeldt take home 19.665 world rankings points along with the $4,500CDN prize, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 23rd place overall with 65.417 total points. Rumfeldt ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 51.715 points earned so far this season.
