Morozumi won 7-2 against Naomasa Takeda (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the ADVICS Cup Championship title, Morozumi earned 28.885 world rankings points along with the $12,497CDN first prize cheque, moving up 25 spots the World Ranking Standings into 55th place overall with 69.546 total points. Morozumi ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.713 points earned so far this season.
