Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) finished 2-3 in the 20 team DEKALB Superspiel qualifying round, held December 2 - 5, 2022 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. In their opening game, Sturmay lost 7-6 to Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis , MN), then responded with a 7-6 win over Amber Holland (Regina, SK). Sturmay went on to lose 7-2 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Sturmay responded with a 9-1 win over Rachel Workin (Fargo, ND). Sturmay went on to lose 6-5 against Andrea Kelly (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Sturmay earned 4.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 18 of the event schedule, Sturmay did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 28th to 29th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 115.705 total points. Sturmay ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 58.750 points earned so far this season.
