In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Marie Kaldvee (Tallinn, EST) 7-4, then won 6-4 against Fay Henderson (Stirling, GBR) and 6-1 against Ariane Oberson (Berne, SUI). Schwaller went on to lose 6-5 against Tirinzoni. Schwaller lost 5-4 to Moa Dryburgh (Stockholm, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
