Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB) won 8-4 over Manitoba's Michelle Montford in the Final of the DEKALB Superspiel, held March 17 - 21, 2011 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. Carey finished 2-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Kim Link (Brandon, MB) 7-5, then won 8-2 against Joelle Brown (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the DEKALB Superspiel Championship title, Carey earned 10.720 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque. Carey move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 9.23 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 11th overall with 166.918 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Carey ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 135.270 points earned so far this season.
