Carey finished 2-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Karen Rosser (Dugald, MB) 7-2, then went on to lose 7-1 against Barb Spencer (Winnipeg, MB). Carey responded with a 8-3 win over Erika Sigurdson (Stonewall, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
