Bottcher won 9-8 against Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC), then won 9-2 against Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) and 7-5 against Thomas Scoffin (Whitehorse, YK). Bottcher won 10-7 against Gushue, then won 9-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Bottcher went on to lose 8-6 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Bottcher responded with a 8-2 win over Reid Carruthers (West St. Paul, MB). Bottcher went on to lose 9-7 against Epping. Bottcher responded with a 9-3 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
